A good basic backpack, with a secret!
It is the "Port Authority Commuter Backpack" with a bullet resistant panel in the back "laptop sleeve". It has dual laptop sleeves, so you could use this bag to carry your laptop too. The main compartment is pretty roomy and has a small flap that would hold a smaller sized tablet. The two water bottle pockets are elasticized and will easily hold a standard sized bottle of water. The organizer part of the interior is just ok. There's some card slots presumably for credit cards, but I wouldn't use it for that, maybe a business card or something? There is a pocket for eyeglasses, but it's not padded, so unless you have a case that fits there, I'd probably use it for something else. The IIIA panel is very light, and you barely even notice the added weight. It doesn't *look* like a protective pack, which is sort of the point. It just looks like a normal everyday bag. If you want or need to carry a different backpack, the panel is removable and you could easily put it in a similarly sized bag. I wouldn't wear a bullet resistant vest everywhere I go, but I do take this bag everywhere I go, which is kind of the point.
